Basketball Recap: Turner Comes Up Short

Turner lost against West back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Turner Golden Bears were dealt a 48-14 defeat at the hands of the West Chargers. The Golden Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

West was led to victory by Sydney VanDyke and Imani McGlory. VanDyke dropped a double-double with 18 points and 20 boards, while McGlory made all 7 shots she took racking up 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and six steals. McGlory is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. Patience Allen was another key player, putting up six points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Turner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for West, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turner will host Lansing at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Turner is facing Lansing at the right time seeing as Lansing is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for West, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Basehor-Linwood at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. West will also cruise into their next matchup with the timing on their side: Basehor-Linwood will have lost four straight heading into Wednesday's game.
