Basketball Recap: Polo Takes a Loss

Polo played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Forreston Cardinals and fell 71-37. The Marcos lost against the Cardinals in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 58-55 score last time.

Polo's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Forreston, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Polo and Forreston could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Polo (ranked 520th) will meet Eastland (ranked 35th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Forreston will face off against Pecatonica at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 312 places (326 vs. 14).
