Basketball Recap: Eastside Skates Past Cherokee with Ease

Eastside's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-29 win over the Cherokee Chiefs. With the Tigers ahead 41-14 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Eastside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyrone Washam out in front who went 5 for 10 en route to 13 points along with five assists and three steals. Romelo Mangum was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Eastside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

The win got Eastside back to even at 5-5. As for Cherokee, they dropped their record down to 5-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Eastside Tigers duke it out with the Camden Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cherokee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rancocas Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
