Recap: Iowa Colony Pioneers vs. El Campo Ricebirds
The Iowa Colony Pioneers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 35-17 victory over El Campo. Iowa Colony had a rough season last year, but theylook ready to turn that poor record around this year.
Iowa Colony found their leader in underclassman Carson White, who threw for 168 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Jayden Warren, who picked up 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, El Campo still got an impressive performance from Ja?Kwuan Hudlin, who rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns. Hudlin's longest rush was for an incredible 83 yards.
Iowa Colony's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.5 points per game. As for El Campo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Iowa Colony will head out on the road to face off against Bay City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for El Campo, they will be playing at home against Stafford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
