Football Recap: Butler Bulldogs vs. West Charlotte Lions
Butler fell victim to West Charlotte and their airtight defense on Friday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 21-0. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Lions are ranked fourth).
Tyler Druzbik threw for 40 yards on four of 12 attempts. Lucas Culberson was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, DeMaurion Thomas-Wright rushed for 26 yards.
Sincere Gray was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 109 yards on only 13 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 109 rushing yards.
Butler's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for West Charlotte, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.
