Volleyball Recap: Franklin Academy Patriots vs. Research Triangle Raptors

After flying high against Raleigh Charter on Monday, Franklin Academy came back down to earth. The Patriots lost 3-0 to the Research Triangle Raptors on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Raptors: they've now lost five in a row.

Franklin Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 25-23.

Their offense was headlined by Clara Clarke and Abigail Cuppett, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Carson Turner and her five assists. Cuppett was also a major player on defense: she and Faye Farrelly shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with four each.
