Baseball Recap: Pearl Takes a Loss

Pearl extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping them down to 7-14. They came up short against the Oak Grove Warriors, falling 11-0. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 9-1 to the Warriors when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Oak Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

For Oak Grove's part, Pearl's batters probably weren't too happy with Brayden Murphy, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk). Murphy also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Warriors are undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.

At the plate, Eric Booth Jr. was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Pfaff, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

While Pearl had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
