Volleyball Recap: Starr's Mill Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Starr's Mill couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 3-0 to the Pace Academy Knights on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since September 16th.

Kate Risley paced Starr's Mill's offense, picking up four kills. Risley got some help from Katie Gutshall and her seven assists.

Pace Academy can attribute much of their success to Britton McGurn, who had 13 assists and six digs. That's the most digs McGurn has posted over her last four matches.

Starr's Mill's loss dropped their record down to 29-14. As for Pace Academy, the victory was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 34-7.

While Starr's Mill had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled on Saturday.
