Basketball Game Preview: University Prep Art & Design Mustangs vs. Edison Academy Pioneers

University Prep Art & Design is on a three-game streak of home losses, Edison Academy a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The University Prep Art & Design Mustangs will host the Edison Academy Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row dating back to last season, University Prep Art & Design turned things around against Southfield Arts & Tech last Monday. They managed a 52-46 win over the Warriors.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edison Academy). Everything went their way against Harper Woods on Friday as Edison Academy made off with a 70-50 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Edison Academy has posted since February 28th.

Edison Academy's win came from a few key players University Prep Art & Design will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jace Petree, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rynnell Wright, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

University Prep Art & Design's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Edison Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

University Prep Art & Design barely slipped by Edison Academy when the teams last played back in March, winning 45-44. Does University Prep Art & Design have another victory up their sleeve, or will Edison Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
