Volleyball Game Preview: Lee's Summit West Titans vs. Grain Valley Eagles

The Lee's Summit West Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Grain Valley Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Lee's Summit West's tournament run continued when they took on Staley on Friday. The Titans fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Lee's Summit West lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Grain Valley got the win against Belton on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won three in a row.

While Grain Valley might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Belton scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-21.

Lee's Summit West's loss dropped their record down to 17-6-1. As for Grain Valley, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7-1.

Lee's Summit West was able to grind out a solid win over Grain Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 3-1. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
