Basketball Recap: Sumner Academy Comes Up Short

Sumner Academy lost against Atchison back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sumner Academy Sabres might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Atchison Phoenix an easy 66-40 victory. The Sabres have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sumner Academy now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Atchison, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Sumner Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harmon on January 7, 2025. Sumner Academy is facing Harmon at the right time seeing as Harmon is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Atchison also won't see the court for a while: their next matchup is against Wyandotte on January 7, 2025.
