Softball Recap: Lytle Pirates vs. Cotulla Cowboys

Lytle lost against Cotulla back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lytle fell just short of Cotulla by a score of 5-4. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaycee Galindo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Giselle Esparza was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Lytle now has a losing record of 7-8-1. As for Cotulla, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
