Baseball Recap: Redington Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Redington barely beat Kodiak the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Bears on Friday. The Huskies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bears, too.

Kaden Petzoldt and JuJu Atencio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Petzoldt pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Atencio struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. At bat, Petzoldt went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Atencio got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ikaia Flores was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nathan Fields, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Redington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kodiak only posted an OBP of .367.

Redington's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1. As for Kodiak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Redington will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bears: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
