Basketball Game Preview: Belfast Lions vs. Winslow Black Raiders

Belfast is 0-10 against Winslow since January of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Belfast Lions will finish 2024 at home by hosting the Winslow Black Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Belfast will be strutting in after a victory while Winslow will be coming in after a loss.

Belfast is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Lisbon to the tune of 81-51 on Saturday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Winslow's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost to Leavitt on the road by a 55-39 margin. The matchup marked the Black Raiders' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Belfast's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Winslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Belfast was taken down by Winslow 59-23 when the teams last played back in February. Can Belfast avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
