Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Grove Breakers vs. North Monterey County Condors

For the second straight game, Pacific Grove will face off against North Monterey County. The Breakers will welcome the Condors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pacific Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Pacific Grove didn't have quite enough to beat North Monterey County and fell 5-4.

Pacific Grove got a good showing from Charlie Edmonds, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Edmonds has become a key player for the Breakers: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most three hits, but 4-5-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Brody Edmonds made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of North Kirk, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for North Monterey County and bumps their season record up to 8-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Pacific Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7-1.
