Recap: Southwest Georgia STEM Charter Aggies vs. Central Hawks
This season hasn't been kind to The Southwest Georgia STEM Charter Aggies, who are still winless after their fifth match. They fell 26-18 to Central on Thursday. Southwest Georgia STEM Charter lost against Central in their previous head to head last Thursday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 19-18 score last time.
Central can attribute much of their success to Rubin Henderson, who threw for 226 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Central also got help from Demarcus White who showed off his sure hands for 140 receiving yards.
Another reason for the win was Central's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Jaden Peterson and his two sacks.
Southwest Georgia STEM Charter's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.7 points per game. As for Central, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-6.
Southwest Georgia STEM Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Central will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Chattahoochee County at 6:30 p.m. Chattahoochee County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
