Softball Recap: Adirondack Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Hamilton, Adirondack was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Westmoreland Bulldogs an 8-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by eight runs or more this season.

Allison Croniser was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Weiler was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Leah Leach was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Adirondack was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Adirondack now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Westmoreland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Adirondack is set to face off against their familiar foe Dolgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westmoreland will take on rival Canastota at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
