Basketball Game Preview: Fort Jennings Musketeers vs. Columbus Grove Bulldogs

Fort Jennings hasn't had much luck against Columbus Grove recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Fort Jennings Musketeers are taking a road trip to face off against the Columbus Grove Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Fort Jennings knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Columbus Grove likes a good challenge.

Fort Jennings is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They wrapped up 2024 with a 62-43 victory over Leipsic. While the Musketeers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Columbus Grove came up short against Bath on Thursday and fell 54-46. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Fort Jennings' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Columbus Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Fort Jennings came up short against Columbus Grove in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 63-51. Can Fort Jennings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
