Baseball Preview: Chamberlain Storm vs. Wharton Wildcats        
        
		
            Chamberlain is 0-5 against Wharton since February of 2018 but things could change  on Saturday. The Chamberlain Storm will be taking part in a tournament against the Wharton Wildcats  at 1:00  p.m. Chamberlain has given up an average of 10.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Chamberlain is headed into Saturday's   match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game  dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  an   11-9 heartbreaker at the hands of Tampa Bay Tech. One positive for the Storm, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
Chamberlain got a  massive  performance out of  Jaden Hyde, who  went 3-for-5 with one  home run, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Hyde has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Trey Sharpe, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Chamberlain was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .471. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wharton made easy work of Plant City  on Thursday and carried off  a  7-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Wharton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Chase Anello, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Wharton is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record  this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Chamberlain's loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
 Chamberlain might still be hurting after the  13-3 defeat they got from Wharton  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. Can Chamberlain avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
