Softball Game Preview: Morris Catholic Crusaders vs. Morris Knolls Golden Eagles

The Morris Catholic Crusaders will square off against the Morris Knolls Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Thursday, Morris Catholic needed a bit of extra time to put away Randolph. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Sofia Reisinger made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over ten innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Reisinger was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Reisinger wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Capezza, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Morris Knolls sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over Hanover Park on Thursday.

Morris Catholic's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Morris Knolls, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
