Basketball Recap: Austin Joyner and Tyler Pridgen Secure Win for Hunt

Hunt won the last time they faced Smithfield-Selma and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hunt Warriors took down the Smithfield-Selma Spartans 65-51. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Leading Hunt to victory were Tyler Pridgen and Austin Joyner. Pridgen went 7 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five assists, while Joyner went 6 of 14 on his way to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Joyner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Hampton, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points.

Hunt's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Smithfield-Selma, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Hunt will be taking part in a tournament against Southern Nash at 8:00 p.m. on December 26th. As for Smithfield-Selma, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Fike at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
