Softball Game Preview: Lopez Lobos vs. Mission Eagles

The Lopez Lobos will head out to take on the Mission Eagles at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Neither Lopez nor Mission posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Edinburg North hit Lopez with a nine-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lobos lost 12-1 to the Cougars.

Lopez saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ferni Pulido, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Mission fell victim to La Feria and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mission fell to 4-1. As for Lopez, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
