Volleyball Recap: Wheatmore Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wheatmore lost against Asheboro last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Comets.

While Wheatmore had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Madeline Mullinix paced Wheatmore's offense, picking up 16 kills. Mullinix got some help from Lanie McMahan and her 30 assists. Lexi Kiel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Asheboro, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Wheatmore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Uwharrie Charter Academy on the 25th. As for Asheboro, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Trinity on the 26th.
