Baseball Recap: Darlington Comes Up Short

After flying high against Wilson last Thursday, Darlington came back down to earth. The Falcons lost 17-2 to the Hartsville Red Foxes on Tuesday. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Red Foxes when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Darlington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chad Rubin, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double was Rubin's first of the season.

Darlington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Hartsville, their victory bumped their record up to 16-4.

While Darlington had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
