It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sumner had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They secured a 41-35 W over the Lake Stevens Vikings. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won nine games in a row.

Lance McGee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 391 yards and six scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Those six rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Sumner was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 451 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Lake Stevens still got an impressive performance from Blake Moser, who rushed for 154 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 195 yards and one TD. Moser's longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Sumner's record now sits at 11-3. As for Lake Stevens, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.

As of now, neither Sumner nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
