 After soaring to 17  runs the game before, Amity was a bit more limited  in their  matchup  on Friday. Their  rough  9-2 defeat to the Taft Tigers  might stick with them for a while. The  loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amity in their matchups with Taft: they've now lost five in a row.
 For Taft's part,  Zack Hankins and  Armando Fajardo were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Hankins   pitched 1.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also only allowed one  walk). Meanwhile,  Fajardo   struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits. At the plate,  Hankins  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while  Fajardo  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI and two  doubles.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Jj McCormick, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.  Ezra James was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Amity's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Taft, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five games,  which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record  this season.
 While Amity had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
