Softball Game Preview: Salt Fork Storm vs. Arcola Purple Riders

The Salt Fork Storm will venture away from home to face off against the Arcola Purple Riders at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Salt Fork is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Watseka just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6.

Meanwhile, Arcola fell victim to Warrensburg-Latham and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 11-0.

Salt Fork's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-7. As for Arcola, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Salt Fork couldn't quite finish off Arcola in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 and fell 2-0. Can the Storm avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
