While Mountainside's victory against Centennial wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mavericks skirted past the Eagles 73-70. While the Mavericks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mountainside's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Centennial, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-5.

Mountainside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-61 victory against Summit on the 2nd. As for Centennial, they will venture away from home to face off against Canby at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
