Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Damien

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Damien). Everything went their way against the Maryknoll Spartans on Thursday as the Damien Monarchs made off with a 13-4 win. With that victory, the Monarchs brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

The win (which was Damien's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Maryknoll, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Damien will face off against St. Louis at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Maryknoll, they will square off against Kamehameha Kapalama at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Maryknoll has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
