Volleyball Recap: South Lafourche Comes Up Short

South Lafourche saw some tournament action on Thursday. They fell just short of the Newman Greenies by a score of 2-1. While the Tarpons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Greenies 25-20 in the first set.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets South Lafourche lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Nyla Lyons paced South Lafourche's offense, picking up ten kills. Lyons got some help from Addison Rodrigue and her 14 assists. Finally, Aubree Lombas kept South Lafourche's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

South Lafourche's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Newman, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

South Lafourche has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Lutcher on the 4th. As for Newman, they are taking a road trip to challenge Chalmette at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
