Softball Game Preview: Riddle Irish vs. Chiloquin Panthers

Riddle has gone 9-1 against Chiloquin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Irish will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Riddle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.1 runs per game this season.

Riddle will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Glendale, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Irish sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Pirates on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Irish as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

A. Hildebrand made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Hildebrand was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on J. Estrada, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of C. Warner, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Meanwhile, Chiloquin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 19-9 to Lowell.

Riddle's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Chiloquin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.

Riddle got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April against Chiloquin by a conclusive 25-3 score. Will the Irish repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
