Basketball Recap: Bryson Milledge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chapelgate Christian Academy over Friends

Chapelgate Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Friends Quakers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered against the Quakers since February 7, 2020.

Chapelgate Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bryson Milledge, who posted 12 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Davis, who earned 11 points and seven boards.

Chapelgate Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Friends, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-17.

While Chapelgate Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
