Baseball Recap: Righetti Takes a Loss

Rio Mesa hit Righetti with a five-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 6-5.

Kamron Walker was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

Righetti's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-9. As for Rio Mesa, they pushed their record up to 17-10 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

Coming up, Righetti will head out to challenge St. Joseph at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Rio Mesa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
