Softball Recap: Pitman Drops Season-High Score on Riverbank

Pitman posted their biggest victory since April 30, 2024 on Saturday. They blew past the Riverbank Bruins 15-4. The Pride's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kaylee Fuller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Fuller was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Ivy Butler and Peyton Avena did most of the damage at the plate: Butler scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Avena went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. What's more, Butler posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lexi Pulido, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Pitman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Pitman back to even at 3-3. As for Riverbank, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pitman will welcome Modesto at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverbank, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Stone Ridge Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverbank has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
