Basketball Game Preview: Wabasso Rabbits vs. Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs

Wabasso and Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Wabasso Rabbits will face off against the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wabasso knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart likes a good challenge.

Wabasso might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 69-58 to Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Rabbits in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost six in a row.

They had to suffer through a 68-30 loss at the hands of Lester Prairie. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 38 points.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart's loss dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Wabasso, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Everything came up roses for Wabasso against Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 110-71 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wabasso since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
