Baseball Recap: Wheaton Academy Triumphs

Wheaton Academy won the last time they faced Chicago Christian and things went their way on Monday too. The Warriors came out on top against the Knights by a score of 5-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Carson Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dom Murrell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Wheaton Academy is 10-1 when Murrell posts two or more runs, but 5-11 otherwise. Eli Tate was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Wheaton Academy's record is now 15-12. As for Chicago Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.

Wheaton Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
