Basketball Recap: Assumption Gets the Win

Assumption hadn't done well against Edgar recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Assumption Royals made off with a 60-59 win over the Edgar Wildcats. This was payback for the Royals, who suffered a 70-37 loss the last time these two teams met.

The victory made it two in a row for Assumption and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Edgar, they now also have a losing record at 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Assumption will be home for the holidays to greet Auburndale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Auburndale knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Assumption likes a good challenge. As for Edgar, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Edgar Wildcats challenge the Stratford Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
