Basketball Recap: Burke Takes a Loss

Burke was the 53-27 winner over Kingstree when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Burke Bulldogs fell to the Kingstree Blazers 40-34.

Kingstree found their leader in sophomore Naydia Shaw, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 14 boards. Shaw is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Kamarie McCrea was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

Burke's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Kingstree, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Burke nor Kingstree have any future games scheduled.
