Baseball Game Preview: Trinity Lutheran Cougars vs. Henryville Hornets

The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will venture away from home to challenge the Henryville Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Trinity Lutheran will be strutting in after a victory while Henryville will be coming in after a loss.

Trinity Lutheran lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Central, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Cougars never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Saturday. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, while it was Henryville who put the first runs on the board on Saturday, it was Clarksville who put up more. The Hornets fell just short of the Generals by a score of 14-13.

Lelan Puyar and Spencer Jenks did some serious damage despite the final result: Puyar went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Jenks got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Braydan Lienhart also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Trinity Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Henryville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.

Trinity Lutheran took their win against Henryville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
