Basketball Recap: Alvin Comes Up Short

Alvin saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 58-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Austin Maroons. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Austin's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hayes Bryant led the charge by putting up 15 points. Those 15 points gave Bryant a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dean Jones, who shot 42% from the field on his way to 13 points and six rebounds.

Alvin now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Austin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
