Preview: Excel Christian Academy Spartans vs. Life Christian Academy Lions
The Excel Christian Academy Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Life Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Excel Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Life Christian Academy will be coming in after a loss.
Excel Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past Patel 83-18 at home. Excel Christian Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.
Excel Christian Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Soleil DeJesus, who scored 26 points along with eight steals and six rebounds, and Anyla Parker, who scored 29 points along with 13 steals and 11 assists. Parker continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Analise DeJesus, who scored seven points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Tohopekaliga 67-31. While losing is never fun, Life Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 479th, while Tohopekaliga is ranked 215th).
Excel Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Life Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Excel Christian Academy against Life Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 62-23 win.
