Benton had won six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 4-0 to make it seven. They walked away with a 17-7 win over the DuQuoin Indians. This was payback for the Rangers, who suffered a 21-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Having lost for the first time this season, DuQuoin fell to 3-1. They were red-hot offensively heading into the match (they scored no less than 31 points in the three games prior), but Benton's defense proved too tough.

When it comes to explaining why DuQuoin lost, don't look at Layton Hawkins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 58 yards and a pair of scores.
