Recap: Minerva Lions vs. Carrollton Warriors
This season hasn't been kind to The Minerva Lions, who are still winless after their tenth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 34-0 loss at the hands of Carrollton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Minerva in their matchups with Carrollton: they've now lost five in a row.
Minerva's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Sadly, the team can't blame their woes on tough opposition, as that stretch included 1-9 Salem and 1-9 Marlington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44.7% over those games). As for Carrollton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Minerva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carrollton is on the road again on Friday and play against Steubenville at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Steubenville will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
