Basketball Recap: North Gem Comes Up Short

North Gem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of the Mackay Miners. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cowboys this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-21 back in December of 2024.

North Gem's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Mackay, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Gem will venture away from home to square off against Rockland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockland will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something North Gem surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mackay, they are taking a road trip to challenge Butte County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
