Winning always takes teamwork, but on Wednesday Sawyer Thomas stepped things up a notch to give Wellborn the 'W'. Nobody could stop Thomas as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Wellborn is 2-1 when Thomas allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

Thomas' effort led Wellborn over Randolph County and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Randolph County is limping into the matchup having lost 12 straight at home dating back to last season.
