Volleyball Recap: King Wolves vs. Santiago Sharks

King was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Santiago Sharks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sharks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19.

Brooklynn Brackenridge paced King's offense, picking up eight kills. Brackenridge got some help from Brielle Thompson and her 14 assists. Kaylie Downs controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Santiago got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kiley Quinlan out in front who had 13 digs. That's the most digs Quinlan has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Castell De Oro, who had seven digs and four aces.

King's loss dropped their record down to 13-17. As for Santiago, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. King is set to challenge their familiar foe Centennial at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Santiago will take on rival Norco at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
