Softball Game Preview: Loretto Mustangs vs. Zion Christian Academy Eagles

For the second straight game, Loretto will face off against Zion Christian Academy. Loretto is taking a road trip to square off against Zion Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Loretto is leaving town to face Zion Christian Academy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Loretto lost 12-4 to Zion Christian Academy on Monday.

For Zion Christian Academy's part, Marleigh McWilliams made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. McWilliams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Bella Waller was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Charlee Cheek was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one triple.

Zion Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Loretto suffered a grim 12-4 defeat to Zion Christian Academy when the teams last played on Monday. Can Loretto avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
