Basketball Game Preview: Village Christian Academy Knights vs. Freedom Christian Academy Patriots

Having just played yesterday, the Village Christian Academy Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Freedom Christian Academy Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Village Christian Academy is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were beaten by Trinity Christian 60-13. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 616th, while the Crusaders are ranked 197th).

Meanwhile, Freedom Christian Academy played a tough contest on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 67-45 to Trinity Christian.

Despite the defeat, Freedom Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Allison Lett dropped a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards. Lett is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 13 or more in the last three games she's played.

Freedom Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for Village Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-15.

Village Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 78-7 loss at the hands of Freedom Christian Academy in their previous matchup on January 7th. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Village Christian Academy was down 54-5.
