Basketball Recap: Ron Brown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Ron Brown has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were dealt a 75-42 loss at the hands of the Roosevelt Roughriders on Wednesday. The Monarchs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-10.

Despite the loss, Ron Brown still got an impressive performance from Derrick Harley, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. Harley has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arrington Smith, who posted nine points.

Sean Hall had another great game (as he tends to do), going 7-for-9 en route to 23 points and three steals for Roosevelt. Those 23 points gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Elijah Hall, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 14 points.

Ron Brown's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Roosevelt, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ron Brown and Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Roosevelt, they will head out to take on McKinley Tech at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant forwards against one another: Hall and Marcus Dunbar.
