Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Takes a Loss

John F. Kennedy suffered their biggest loss since December 5th on Saturday. They lost 57-33 to the Village Tech Viper Squid. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 985th, while the Viper Squid are ranked 297th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Village Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jacori Cathey, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 15 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Thomas, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 20 points.

This is the second loss in a row for John F. Kennedy and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Village Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

John F. Kennedy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-55 win against Lockhart on the 28th. As for Village Tech, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-41 victory against Stephenville on the 28th.
